摘要: [1] Three-dimensional simulations of the dynamics outer radiation belt electrons with recently developed Versatile Electron Radiation Belt (VERB) code are presented. Simulations preformed for an idealized storm geomagnetic activity–dependent wave amplitudes that parameterized as a function level activity. Numerical experiments using VERB various scattering processes (pitch angle diffusion, radial and energy diffusion) indicate diffusive strongly coupled each other they all should be included in realistic belts. We show during storms, inward diffusion can produce significant accelerations to relativistic energies, while pitch decrease increase fluxes, respectively. presence high-latitude low-latitude chorus, peaks profile phase space density formed between L 4 6 recovery later smoothed by diffusion. Sensitivity control intensities plays controlling role electrons. 10–100 keV near geosynchronous orbit reach MeV energies heart belts combined situ acceleration. present two scenarios acceleration plasma sheet electrons: (1) range hundreds means (2) tens local
