Seizure episodes themselves may have triggers; however, decades, stress has been commonly consistently suspected be trigger seizure events. This paper explores relationship between seizures reviews clinical data as well animal studies that increasingly corroborate impact hormones on neuronal excitability susceptibility. basis enthusiasm targeting glucocorticoid receptors epilepsy mixed results such efforts are reviewed. In addition, this will highlight recent findings identifying regulatory pathway controlling body's physiological response which represents novel therapeutic target modulation hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis. Thus, HPA axis important implications control imply use anticonvulsants influence pathway. article part Special Issue entitled “The Future Translational Research”.
