摘要: Neuronal mitochondria are receiving a rapidly increasing level of attention. This is to significant part due the ability visualize neuronal in novel ways, especially vivo. Such an approach allows studying intact tissue context, during different developmental states and various genetic backgrounds disease conditions. Hence, vivo imaging nervous system can reveal aspects 'mitochondrial life cycle' neurons that hitherto have remained obscure or could only be inferred indirectly. In this survey current literature, we review new insights emerged from studies using mitochondrial neural preparations ranging worms mice.
