Apoptosis is inversely related to bcl‐2 but not to bax expression in salivary gland tumours

摘要: Aims: We investigated the extent of apoptosis in 55 benign and malignant salivary gland tumours its association with immunohistochemical expression bcl-2 bax. Methods results: Apoptosis was detected histological sections by 3′-end DNA labelling method. bax protein determined immunohistochemistry. The frequency clearly higher than tumours. In pleomorphic adenomas Warthin's average apoptotic index 0.01% (range 0.00–0.07%) while it 0.42% 0.00–1.75%). Immunohistochemical observed all most cases strong. tumours, 9/25 showed no rest cases, apart from adenoid cystic carcinomas, often weak. There were significantly more or weak positivity (P = 0.001). a statistically significant between high (P = 0.02). contrast to bcl-2, strong found both not associated apoptosis. Conclusions: The low suggests that down-regulation might contribute their apoptosis.
