摘要: Abstract Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of computer-tailored newsletter interventions in improving number and variety fruits vegetables eaten by adults. Design The 4-group randomized trial with pre- post-intervention measures consisted a control group 3 intervention groups receiving nontailored newsletters, or tailored newsletters goal-setting information. Intervention received 1 each month for 4 months. Subjects Baseline surveys were completed 710 health maintenance organization clients. Postintervention administered 6 months after baseline 573 participants (80.8%). All contained strategies fruit vegetable consumption. Tailored used computer algorithms to match person's survey information most relevant messages promoting dietary change. Main outcome Daily intake weekly measured using food frequency questionnaire. Statistical analyses performed Analysis covariance Tukey's honestly significant difference test assess differences consumed among groups. Results For persons completing postintervention (n=573), all had significantly higher daily scores compared group.
