摘要: The eastern stock of gemfish in south-eastern Australia is currently assessed to be overfished and depleted below the performance criterion established by Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA). Assessments indicate that there was a substantial decline abundance during late 1970s early 1980s year classes spawned at end were much weaker than expected from (estimated) stock-recruitment relationship. performances variety alternative management procedures are contrasted. factors considered operating models include uncertainty about historical catches, comparability recent survey estimates, form relationship, whether variations recruitment relationship auto-correlated, quantity quality data available for assessment purposes. differ terms their needs (survey only, age-composition data) target levels. results that, even though yields fishery likely low, benefits conducting annual surveys exceed costs. value collecting less clear. based on Virtual Population Analysis achieve more variable catches satisfy AFMA criteria Schaefer production model, but they higher levels “guaranteed” catch industry.
