摘要: Abstract The Palinuro volcanic chain (PVC) is located about 80 km offshore the Campania region (Italy) in southern sector of Tyrrhenian Sea. consists 15 edifices aligned an E-W direction with two distinct major seamounts (Palinuro and Glabro). They cover a 90 km long 20 wide area, present-day volume 2700 km3. volcanism emplaced between 0.8 0.3 Ma, although shallow seismicity hydrothermalism indicate ongoing activity. A geomorphological analysis data from multichannel seismic profile reveal large volumes buried chaotic material suggesting gravity mass sliding volcano flanks slide scars. stability has been carried out to determine sectors potentially prone case earthquakes. Landslides are simulated by adopting scenario-based approach. Tsunamis induced these movements their propagation across Sea modeled. Results suggest that earthquakes (M ~4.6–4.8) able destabilize generating slope failures. Sliding order 1.5 km3 2.4 may induce waves as high 6 m, respectively, along peri-Tyrrhenian coast. Our results underline need for further investigations on submarine volcanoes basin. These still poorly known instability could trigger tsunamis Italy coastal sectors. recommendation multiparamertic monitoring networks PVC periodic oceanic cruises should be put into action, systematic evaluation tsunami hazard related possible phenomena performed.
