摘要: It has been shown that pregnancy often worsens known diabetes increases the insulin requirement in juvenile type and may produce a state of "temporary diabetes" women who were previously considered normal. That these apparently normal uncovered latent or prediabetic is illustrated case history. This patient developed severe diabetic ketosis during her 1st pregnancy. Between pregnancies glucose tolerance curve was but added stress 50 mg cortisone administered twice revealed status. Each subsequent reaffirmed basic defect. Finally to breast abscess she became permanently requiring large daily dose insulin. Vascular disorders retinopathy neuropathy have also observed start become worse An increasing incidence with parity recorded only over 6 (p = .01). Parity not related severity retinopathy. suggested woman be more fertile than average. Pregnancy cause no lasting diabetogenic effect.
