摘要: Immune system abnormalities in schizophrenia include a shift from Type 1 (cellular) to 2 (humoral) immune response. To characterize the activation status of schizophrenia, we examined pattern gene expression peripheral blood cells for three Th1 cytokines (interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin-2 (IL-2)), and one Th2 cytokine (interleukin-10 (IL-10)). In cross-sectional study, used quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) compare mRNA levels IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, IL-2, IL-10 mononuclear (PBMCs) between 15 patients matched healthy controls. Expression IFN-gamma TNF-alpha was significantly reduced with compared normal No differences IL-2 were observed. These results are consistent impaired cellular immunity schizophrenia. While data illustrate potential utility mRNA-based approaches identification analysis biomarkers neuropsychiatric disorders, correlation direct measures concentrations is required.
