摘要: Background : Schizophrenia is accompanied by an activation of the immune/inflammatory system. In present study, relationships between serum interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and transforming growth (TGF)-β1 levels schizophrenia were explored in a group Taiwanese inpatients. Furthermore, IL-6, TNF-α, TGF-β1 patients with compared before after 1 month antipsychotic treatment. Methods The 34 acute stage schizophrenic 30 healthy control subjects collected. These again collected treatment. An analysis covariance (ANCOVA) adjusted for gender was performed to examine differences cytokine group. Repeated measures ANCOVA Results Using gender, significantly increased IL-6 found (p = 0.02), but there no significant TNF-α 0.06 0.91, respectively). After medical treatment, 0.64), 0.48), 0.23) patients, although appeared be normalizing. Conclusion increase level may play role pathophysiology schizophrenia. A larger sample size longer period follow-up are needed confirm this finding.
