Methimazole‐induced agranulocytosis: Growth inhibition of myeloid progenitor cells by the patient's serum

摘要: Abstract The mechanism for agranulocytosis induced by antithyroid drugs is not established. few available studies have proposed an immune-mediated process against mature granulocytes. We investigated the effect of methimazole and propylthiouracil serum from a patient with methimazole-induced on marrow myeloid colony growth. In presence normal or patient's recovery serum, had no growth CFU-GM colonies marrow. However, obtained during inhibited in vitro both autologous allogeneic bone These results are compatible rather than direct toxic drug abnormally sensitive cells.
