摘要: S100P has been shown to be a marker for carcinogenesis where its expression in solid tumours correlates with metastasis and poor patient prognosis. This protein’s role any physiological process is, however, unknown. Here we first show that is expressed both trophoblasts vivo as well some corresponding cell lines culture. We demonstrate predominantly during the early stage of placental formation highest levels occurring trimester gestation, particularly invading columns anchoring villi. Using gain or loss function studies through overexpression knockdown respectively, our work shows stimulates motility cellular invasion different trophoblastic EVT lines. Interestingly, was seen more dramatically affected than migration. Our results suggest may acting an important regulator trophoblast placentation. finding sheds new light on hitherto uncharacterized molecular mechanism which may, turn, lead identification novel targets explain why significant numbers confirmed human pregnancies suffer complications implantation.
