摘要: Aims: To test the hypothesis that faecal coliform (FC) and phosphorus (P) are transported similarly in surface runoff through vegetative filter strip after being released from land-applied manure. Methods Results: The Hagerstown soil was packed into boxes were 10 cm deep, 30 wide 100, 200 or 300 long. Grass grown prior experiments. Same-length placed under rainfall simulator tilted to have with either 2% 4% slopes. Dairy manure broadcast on upper 30-cm section. Rainfall simulated samples collected analysed for Cl, FC total (TP). Mass recovery, concentration decrease rate k, ratio : TP showed there a consistent relationship between runoff. Conclusion: transport vegetated buffer strips highly correlated. Significance Impact of Study: As knowledge base effect environmental parameters P is substantially larger than manure-borne bacteria, observed similarity may enhance ability assess efficiency retention currently used as indicator organisms pathogens.
