摘要: BACKGROUND: Medulloblastomas in children can be categorized into four molecular subgroups with differing clinical characteristics such that subgroup determination aids prognostication and risk-adaptive treatment strategies. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a widely available, non-invasive tool used to determine metabolic of tumors providing diagnostic information without the need for tumor tissue. In this study we investigated hypothesis metabolite concentrations measured by MRS would differ between medulloblastoma allowing accurate determination. METHODS: was measure metabolites medulloblastomas across (SHH = 12, Groups 3/4 17, WNT 1). Levels fourteen were analyzed those which most discriminant order construct multivariable classifier distinguish combined Group SHH tumors. RESULTS: revealed distinct spectral features. A five inclusive creatine, myo-inositol, taurine, aspartate lipid 13a developed could discriminate excellent accuracy (cross-validated Area Under Curve AUC 0.88). 3 4 demonstrated profiles readily detectable lower levels lipids high creatine. showed prominent choline low creatine little or no evidence taurine. CONCLUSIONS: The data show different metabolically as using MRS. potentially useful subgroups.
