摘要: Spinal cord injury is catastrophic and there much to learn for the injured person. During inpatient rehabilitation in Australia, it responsibility of nurse teach patient care him or herself. One components this self-care management patient's newly acquired neurogenic bowel. However, readiness motivation about may be missing weak, non-adjustment initially impair learning. Astute assessment therefore needed determine person's learning ability. As a result, bowel programme can adjusted accordingly either meet needs self-directed learner dependent learner. Whichever case, well designed education materials will facilitate transfer from community settings. This article highlights complexity preparing patients with spinal self-management faecal continence.
