摘要: Laurus nobilis L. is a large shrub belonging to the Lauracea family. Its leaves are widely used for food seasoning as well in folk medicine. Various studies have demonstrated antiproliferative, antifungal and antibacterial effects of nobilis, but no investigated genotoxic effect aqueous extract plant. The objective this study was analyze potential an leaves, using Allium cepa assay mouse peripheral blood cell micronucleus test. results showed that did not any activity, cytotoxic activity observed two experimental models used. had antiproliferative effect, detected through reduction mitotic index polychromatic/normochromatic erythrocyte (PCE/NCE) ratio. tests also number cells undergoing apoptosis with nuclear abnormalities related death processes. These can be explained by presence phenolic compounds, saponins, flavonoids alkaloids, phytochemical analysis extract.
