摘要: Breast carcinoma is a heterogeneous disease. It can be classified into phenotypes based on the expression of certain proteins, with distinct differences in prognosis. The basal phenotype associated worse prognosis and it still remains without specific treatment. However, there currently no international consensus cytological criteria that could predict this phenotype. purpose study was to evaluate fine-needle aspiration biopsy identify their association breast carcinoma. Fine-needle specimens tissue sections (mastectomy specimen) from 74 cases high-grade invasive ductal carcinomas were consecutively retrieved files three institutions. studied using microarray technique, being phenotypes: luminal A, B, HER2 overexpression, basal. for all reviewed blindly by two pathologists according five criteria: cellularity, cell pattern, presence necrosis, nucleoli, nuclear atypia. Exact Fisher test used between Necrosis present 64.7% carcinomas, 31.1% nonbasal result statistically significant, showing an odds ratio (OR) 3.80. phenotype, compared showed more necrosis (OR = 6.97), present/prominent nucleoli 8.18), cellularity frequently 18.03).
