Objective study examined effects of a non-dieting lifestyle intervention approach for morbidly obese women designed in framework self-determination theory (SDT) and Health at Every Size on weight maintenance psychological functioning. Participants design Predominantly white (97%), (BMI ≥ 35 kg m -2 with least one co-morbid condition or BMI 40 ) pre-menopausal (N = 62), aged between 24 55 years were initially randomly assigned to 12 weeks (IIG) delayed start control group (DSCG). program consisted 3 months intensive followed 9 month phase. DSCG commenced after months. Results conclusions Initially, IIG showed significant decrease body (baseline end RCT phase) compared increase group. However, no changes status evident either baseline. 3-month resulted significantly improved functioning both groups, which maintained provides additional support non-dieting, theory-based, management well-being among females.
