摘要: Objective: Adding exercise to a comprehensive weight-loss program might not only attenuate any psychological distress associated with attempts but also may provide benefits. This study examined whether diet-plus-exercise improved outcomes more than diet-only or an assessment-only control group. Research Methods and Procedures: was part of larger 1-year randomized trial examining the effects diet on cardiovascular disease risk factors in 264 overweight adults. Psychological measures specific weight (e.g., cognitive restraint, disinhibition, hunger, body dissatisfaction) as well traditional symptoms depression, anxiety, stress) were obtained at baseline 1 year.
