摘要: The future will bring increasing demands from society for a better quality of life and more sustainable designs also in port handling facilities. Moreover, scarcity land forces authorities to realize higher area utilizations. Terminal operators have equal objectives, but on top that they are looking cost reductions through decreased cycle (energy consumption, maintenance, life-time, etc.). Many these topics their impact the design terminal (stack) systems reason both (in specs equipment specs) system (equipment) suppliers process installing sustainable, environmentally friendly cost-effective systems. In this chapter authors present approach directives be applied stacking connected transportation container terminals. Covered are: performance issues stack configurations, strategies measures increase cost-efficiency reduce energy use eco-impact. shows challenge how balance service requirements, costs sustainability.
