摘要: Paired pulse stimulation has commonly been employed to investigate changes in excitability epileptic hippocampal tissue employing the vitro slice preparation. We used paired intact temporal lobe of patients with seizures compare pathways epileptogenic hippocampus (located which arise) those non-epileptogenic contralateral (in hemisphere spread). A total 20 seizure onsets were studied during chronic depth electrode monitoring for localization. Intracranial vivo and recording sites included hippocampus, entorhinal cortex, subicular cortex parahippocampal gyrus. comparison all located where typically started (n=37) lobes onset (n=53) showed significantly greater suppression population post-synaptic potentials on side (F(1,87)=6.1, P<0.01). Similarly, mean was perforant path responses than (F(1,13)=7.5, In contrast, local activating intrinsic associational decreased path. These results may be a functional consequence formation abnormal recurrent inhibitory excitatory sclerotic hippocampus. Enhanced inhibition adaptive suppressing interictal periods, while circuits presence enhanced drive hypersynchronization principal neurons necessary genesis.
