摘要: A MALDI/LDI source is disclosed that includes an ion optical device and beam-focusing optics disposed on opposite sides of a sample support at least locally transparent in region underlying the to allow transmission radiation beam therethrough. laser or other source, located adjacent rear surface support, emits focused by focusing traverses impinge sample. Ions produced irradiation are collected front support. By locating short focal length may be utilized, thereby facilitating smaller spot sizes. This particularly useful for mass spectral tissue imaging applications where high spatial resolution analysis differentiated desirable.
