What can I gain as a mentor? The effect of mentoring on the job performance and social status of mentors in China

摘要: In this study, we examine how mentoring benefits mentors as well team cohesiveness affects relationships and resulting benefits. We followed 512 formal in a Chinese manufacturing firm for six months collected data three phases from sources. The findings reveal that the amount of provided is positively related to mentors' in-role job performance social status. These were fully mediated by personal learning interaction quality, respectively. Team cohesiveness, however, did not moderate these relationships. Our empirical have implications understanding careers can benefit being mentor.
