摘要: Debarking wastewaters of the forest industry contain high concentrations tannins that are inhibitory to methane bacteria. The can be polymerized nontoxic colored compounds by applications an autoxidation pretreatment, enabling anaerobic treatment easily biodegradable components in wastewater. continuous untreated and autoxidized pine bark extract was studied laboratory-scale columns packed with a granular sludge bed. doubled conversion efficiency COD (from 19 40%). After 5 months operation, extracts feasible at influent (14 g COD/L) loading rates (26 COD/L . d) 98% elimination fraction. detoxification pretreatment toxic poorly molecular weight humic which were not eliminated during treatment. Although original 60%, they biodegraded volatile fatty acids but instead transformed phenolic degradation intermediates (phenol, p-cresol, 3-phenyl-propionate, carboxycyclohexane). Therefore, did decrease content readily substrates accounted for 53% COD. recalcitrant expected effluents reactors treating debarking waste-water effectively separated calcium precipitation prior
