摘要: Abstract This article provides an overview of governance and geopolitics as drivers change in the Great Lakes–St Lawrence basin. It separates regional conditions into two themes, water quantity quality, tracing historical trends since 1963. study history Lakes region reveals recurrent themes that impact sustainability resource: institutional fragmentation, changing relationship between federal sub-national levels government Canada US, capacity, on governance. These are explored to imagine future under three potential scenarios: a utopian scenario sustainable basin with robust place, status quo business usual and, dystopian poor contributes ecological disaster.
