摘要: The following work describes the development of a novel noninvasive transmucosal drug delivery system, chitosan sponge matrix (CSM). It is composed cationic (CS) nanoparticles (NPs) that encapsulate cisplatin (CDDP) embedded within polymeric mucoadhesive CS matrix. CSM designed to swell up when exposed moisture, facilitating release NPs via diffusion across intended be administered topically and locally mucosal tissues, with its initial indication being oral cancer (OC). Currently, intravenous (IV) CDDP gold standard chemotherapeutic agent used in treatment OC. However, clinical use has been limited by renal hemotoxicity profile. We aim administer encapsulation deliver them directly cavity CSM. hypothesized such device will greatly reduce any systemic toxicity increase antitumor efficacy.
