摘要: Abstract Routine monthly measurements of airborne and precipitated sulphur over Ireland have been analysed, to determine the annual wet dry deposition sulphur, compared with predictions a statistical long-range transport model. Comparisons between south west Norway made, since in several ways two regions are similar, being remote from major industrial sources Europe. The difference concentration rain is too small account for average acidity countries, importance basic ions non-industrial noted. Rain only slightly acid no trends found data going back 15 years. It not possible estimate effect on reduction sulphate. made calculations which indicate that about 50 % measured can be explained by direct man-made sources. Of this %, 65 comes Great Britain. Errors modelling sufficient explain it suggested that, addition, Irish sampling network there may sizeable local, natural background contributions.
