摘要: Though currently available clinical treatments and therapies have clearly extended the survival of patients with brain tumors, many these advances are short lived, particularly respect to high grade gliomas such as glioblastoma multiforme. The missing link an efficacious treatment is a more complete understanding basic molecular cellular origin tumors. However, new discoveries stem cell developmental neurobiology now borne cancer hypothesis, drawing off intriguing similarities between benign malignant cells within central nervous system. Investigation hypothesis tumor propagation current frontier biology. Neurosurgery also watching closely this promising area focus. “Molecular neurosurgery”, glioma involving biologics using neural target at level individual migratory cell, rapidly evolving field. This coming progression applied research, coupled modalities, promises comprehensive interventions.
