摘要: Endophytic fungi, a group of fungi living inside the host plant tissues without causing visible symptoms disease, are known to occur ubiquitously in plants. Existing mutualistic association with their plants, they have been shown enhance plant’s ability tolerate abiotic and biotic stresses3. In culture, many endophytic species produce number important secondary metabolites including anticancer, antidiabetic, antifungal immunosuppressant compounds. Many these compounds closely mimic those produced by respective suggesting that could fact potentially serve as an alternative source metabolites. Notwithstanding findings, date, there has no major breakthrough commercially exploiting Among reasons attributed is severe attenuation production metabolite culture. Li et al. showed successive cultures Pericornia sp. isolated from Torreya grandifolia, resulted taxol production, though fungal growth itself was unaffected. Although for such not extensively studied, it conjectured be due lack stimulus culture media.
