摘要: Normal volunteers, aged 30 to 99 years, were studied with MRI. Age was related estimated volumes of: gray matter, white and CSF of the cerebrum cerebellum; matter abnormality, within each cerebral lobe; eight subcortical structures. The results were: 1) Age-related losses in hippocampus significantly accelerated relative elsewhere brain. 2) Among lobes, frontal lobes disproportionately affected by cortical volume loss increased abnormality. 3) Loss cerebellar occurred later than, but ultimately greater matter. It is that between ages 90 averages 14% cortex, 35% hippocampus, 26% Separate analyses conducted which genetic risk associated Apolipoprotein E epsilon4 allele either overrepresented or underrepresented among elderly participants. Accelerated hippocampal observed both thus does not appear be due presence at-risk subjects. MR signal alterations tissues older individuals pose challenges validity current methods tissue segmentation, should considered interpretation results.
