摘要: Abstract Objective To find an adequate tool to assess the auditory startle reflex (ASR) in children. Methods We investigated effect of stimulus repetition, gender and age on several quantifications ASR. ASR’s were elicited by eight consecutive stimuli 27 healthy Electromyographic activity orbicularis oculi, masseter, sternocleidomastoid, deltoid, abductor pollicis brevis, quadriceps muscles sympathetic skin response recorded. ASR parameters (response probability % magnitude area-under-the-curve) were: (1) combined all six (2) blink response. Results Response probabilities 78% oculi (median latency 41 ms), 17% sternocleidomastoid 66 ms), 10% masseter 66 ms) lower other muscles. The significantly decreased with repetitive stimuli, but did not. (area-under-the-curve) both not decrease stimuli. There no or effects. Conclusion As adults, multiple show different habituation patterns Significance Investigation seems appropriate quantify
