Glass transition temperature of methyl methacrylate-ethyl ?-benzoyloxymethylacrylate copolymers

摘要: Poly(ethyl α-benzoyloxymethylacrylate) (EBMA) and copolymers of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with EBMA have been prepared by free radical polymerization. Monomer precursors ethyl α-benzoyloxymethylacrylate likewise polymerized. Glass transition temperatures (Tg) homo determined differential scanning calorimetry. The Johnston equation, which considers the influence monomeric unit distribution on copolymer glass temperature, has used to explain Tg behaviour. Tg12 calculated application gave a value markedly lower than average expected from additive contribution corresponding homopolymers. © 2000 Society Chemical Industry
