摘要: A growing number of studies have recently reported links between personality and dispersal, yet the adaptive significance personality-dependent dispersal strategies still remain poorly understood. Here, we tested whether birds differing in exploratory behaviour (EB, quantified by a novel environment test), gain differential fitness benefits when remaining or leaving their natal area natural population great tits (Parus major). Using data on lifetime fecundity, found no evidence that particular combinations EB lead to higher after settlement. In males, positive selection acting through first-year survival, resulting relationship fledglings. However, contrary expectation, these effects were only present local recruits not immigrants. Male immigrants produced fewer fledglings during than did recruits, suggesting against at scale exceeding size our study area. females, recruitment with respect year (i.e., negative, stabilizing selection), but neither strength nor direction differed among different strategies. We either sex for using as measure fitness. conclusions, results do support hypothesis co-expression is shaped
