Excitation Energies of Particle-Hole States in 208 Pb and the Surface Delta Interaction ∗

摘要: The schematic shell model without residual interaction (SSM) assumes the same excitation energy for all spins in each particle-hole configuration multiplet. In 208Pb, more than forty states are known to contain almost full strength of a single configuration. experimental state with certain spin differs from predicted by SSM −0.2 +0.6 MeV. multiplet splitting is calculated surface delta interaction; it corresponds diagonal matrix element SSM. For containing 90% and centroid several completely observed configurations, often approximates within 30 keV. strong mixing some pairs strengths two configurations explained.
