摘要: Oral cancer accounts for 40%-50% of all cancers in India. Tobacco and alcohol are the major etiological factors contributing to its pathogenesis. The aim present study was explore key mechanism behind inhibitory effects rosmarinic acid against 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA)-induced oral carcinogenesis by evaluating status biochemical markers (lipid peroxidation, antioxidants, detoxification enzymes) immunoexpression patterns p53 bcl-2 proteins. tumors were developed painting buccal pouches golden Syrian hamsters with 0.5% DMBA liquid paraffin 3 times a week 14 weeks. We noticed 100% tumor formation treated alone, histopathologically confirmed as well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. administration (100 mg/kg body wt) DMBA-treated completely prevented formation. In addition, significantly returned molecular near normal range hamsters. results suggest that suppresses stimulating activities enzymes, improves lipid peroxidation downregulates expression during DMBA-induced carcinogenesis.
