摘要: PURPOSE: Synchrotron microbeam radiation therapy (MRT) is an innovative irradiation modality based on spatial fractionation of a high-dose X-ray beam into lattices microbeams. The increase in lifespan brain tumor-bearing rats associated with vascular damage but the physiological consequences MRT blood vessels have not been described. In this manuscript, we evaluate oxygenation changes induced by intracerebral 9L gliosarcoma model. METHODS: Tissue responses to (two orthogonal arrays (2×400Gy)) were studied using magnetic resonance-based measurements local oxygen saturation (MR_SO2) and quantitative immunohistology RECA-1, Type-IV collagen GLUT-1, marker hypoxia. RESULTS: tumors, MR_SO2 decreased factor 2 tumor between day 8 45 after MRT. This correlated remodeling, i.e. decrease vessel density, increases half-vessel distances (×5) GLUT-1 immunoreactivity. Conversely, did change normal MR_SO2, although inter-distances increased slightly. CONCLUSION: We provide new evidence for differential effect vasculature, that leads As hypothesized formerly, vasculature exposed remains sufficiently perfused prevent any
