摘要: PURPOSE: The pathophysiology of sporadic proctalgia fugax remains unknown. This study investigates whether patients with this syndrome exhibit alterations in anal function and morphology. METHODS: Eighteen 18 sex-matched age-matched healthy controls were studied. Manometric studies investigated resting squeeze pressures, the rectoanal inhibitory reflex, rectal compliance, smooth muscle response to edrophonium chloride administration. External internal sphincter thickness was measured endosonographically. RESULTS: Patients had slightly higher (P=0.0291) pressures (65.5±11.4 mmHg) than (56±9.9 mmHg). However, pressure, relaxation during distention, compliance similar both groups, no detected external thickness. Edrophonium administration followed by sharp postrelaxation contractions two patients, whereas remained unaltered controls. Acute episodes proctalgia, which occurred while under study, associated a rise tone an increase slow wave amplitude. CONCLUSIONS: In state, have normal anorectal they may motor abnormality acute attack.
