摘要: Aim  To evaluate the role of postoperative radiotherapy in management keloids. Methods  Forty-seven patients with a combined total 60 keloids were treated 6-MeV electron beam after surgical excision keloids. Mean daily fractions 4 Gy (range, 3–5 Gy) administered up to dose 16 Gy 12–18 Gy). The median follow-up was 70 months. Patients asked complete questionnaire addressing their satisfaction treatment results. This self-assessment compared clinical outcome. Results  Four (7%) relapsed completely, and five recurrences (8%) classified as limited relapses. All observed at sites high stretch–tension. Keloid-associated symptoms, e.g. itching pain, improved 81%. Hypopigmentation 29 (62%), mild redness scar eight (17%), grade 1 telangiectasias two (4%). No severe complications or secondary malignancies observed. Self-assessments did not fully correspond examination recurrence status. Twelve satisfied result, but only these completely. Three described result therapy excellent good. Conclusion  Postoperative is well tolerated very effective preventing keloid recurrence. avoid an overestimation cosmetic outcome, should be informed about achievable results before starts.
