摘要: During the last few decades, a wealth of studies dedicated to human Y chromosome and its DNA variation, in particular Y-chromosome single-nucleotide polymorphisms (Y-SNPs), has led construction well-established phylogeny. Since recent advent new sequencing technologies, discovery additional Y-SNPs is exploding their continuous incorporation phylogenetic tree leading an ever higher resolution. However, large increasing amount information included "complete" phylogeny, which now already includes many thousands identified Y-SNPs, can be overwhelming complicates understanding as well task selecting suitable markers for genotyping purposes evolutionary, demographic, anthropological, genealogical, medical, forensic studies. As solution, we introduce concise reference phylogeny whereby do not aim provide exhaustive that all known but, rather, quite stable aiming optimal global discrimination capacity based on strongly reduced set only most resolving Y-SNPs. Furthermore, with this tree, wish propose common standard Y-marker Y-haplogroup nomenclature. The current version our core 417 branch-defining available online at http://www.phylotree.org/Y.
