Poikiloderma of Civatte: a clinical and epidemiological study.

摘要: Background  Although a common dermatosis, idiopathic poikiloderma of the face and neck has not been studied in depth for decades. Objectives  To reassess clinical epidemiological characteristics Civatte (PC). Material Methods  Fifty consecutive patients with PC. Evaluation included history taking physical examination. Epidemiological parameters were recorded analysed. The literature from 1923 until today, was reviewed thoroughly. Results  frequency PC among dermatologic estimated to be 1.4%. There 34 females (68%) 16 males present study. mean age at diagnosis 47.8 years 61.7 years males. majority (88%) had skin phototype II or III. Among females, 26 their peri-menopausal stage, including three cases iatrogenic menopause. Four reported that other blood-related family members also v sides upper chest most often affected symmetric distribution. (preauricular parotid region) involved 19 (38%). erythemato-telangiectatic type predominated (58%), followed by mixed (22%) pigmented (20%). Almost half (46%) symptomatic (itching, burning ‘flushing’). duration onset 6.2 years according patients’ report. course usually slowly progressive (82%) irreversible. Conclusions  shows characteristic features, supporting theory it represents distinct entity. It is rather Greece. menopausal women our cohort, men uncommonly diagnosed an older age.
