摘要: Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Major research contributions in ethnopharmacology have generated vast amount of data associated with medicinal plants. Computerized databases facilitate management and analysis making coherent information available to researchers, planners other users. Web-based also knowledge transmission feed the circle exchange between ethnopharmacological studies public audience. However, despite development many plant databases, a lack uniformity is still discernible. Therefore, it calls for defining common standard achieve objectives ethnopharmacology. Aim study The aim review diversity approaches storing provide some minimal standards these databases. Materials methods Survey articles on was done Internet by using selective keywords. Grey literatures printed materials were searched information. Listed resources critically analyzed their content type, focus area software technology. Results Necessity rapid incorporation traditional compiling primary has been felt. While citation collection approach compilation, could not fully assimilate local which reflect knowledge. Need systematic evaluation, checking quality authenticity Databases focussing thematic areas, viz., medicine system, regional aspect, disease phytochemical are analyzed. Issues pertaining standard, linking unique identification need be addressed addition general issues like update sustainability. In background present study, suggestions made minimum database. Conclusion spite variations approaches, existence overlapping features indicates redundancy efforts. As global single database may possible view culture-specific differences, efforts can given specific areas. Existing scenario collaborative sharing scientific advancement.
