摘要: Abstract Alterations in the region of pubic symphysis and sacroiliac joints referred to as pelvic scarring are investigated by forensic scientists potential indicators pregnancy parturition. Although is not exclusively related obstetrical events, analysis relationship between this trait skeletal mineral density archaeological samples can give us a new insight into women's lives. The present study analyzes presence degree observed on bones bone (BMD) measured proximal femur 190 skeletons adult females representing populations from Kujawy north-central Poland dating 4500 BCE early 19th century CE. Multiple regression has shown that 48% variability female explained time periods population, individual's age at death, depth scarring. In all analyzed samples, with high regardless death were characterized higher than without such alterations. A explains over 3% BMD skeletons. It seems together shed some light reproductive phenomena past populations.
