HMO enrollment: who joins what and why: a review of the literature.

摘要: Enrollment in an HMO involves a simultaneous choice of insurance benefits and provider system. Review extensive series studies shows that breadth coverage, lower cost, assured access to are key elements anticipated the choice. But so too perceived limitations inherent selection physician within close-panel plan, inconvenience centralized sites. For design evaluation future policy, current knowledge based on past enrollment behavior offers only tentative suggestions.
