摘要: The present article describes a novel fundamental theory for investigating combined fouling by colloids (STXL), macromolecules, and solute ions (NaCl). Three macromolecules were used the study, bovine serum albumin (BSA), alginate, dextran. presented unifies singlet, doublet, triplet phenomena, including cake-enhanced osmotic pressure binary colloidal models, giving rise to flux equation three-component assuming completely mixed layer. predicted was compared two equivalent fluxes calculated from individual foulant contributions. strong form of flux, known as additive based on linear superposition decline due foulants. weak assumed stratification layers hence resistance. A comparison experimental data theoretical calculations revealed that provided upper lower limits, respectively, observed permeate flux. Furthermore, model simulation results suggested structural compression BSA gel layer, whereas such did not occur in cases alginate concentrations dextran layer seemed be less than those macromolecular
