摘要: Abstract Rotational spectra of planar clusters Rydberg Matter (RM) have recently been reported for the first time, K19 in excitation levels nB = 4, 5 and 6 [L. Holmlid, Mol. Phys. 105 (2007) 933–939]. From such spectra, average bond distances can be determined, good agreement with theoretical predictions is found. an example a sixfold symmetric RM cluster, while other similar 37, 61 91 atoms. bands heavy K37, K61 K91 are easily identified since they appear as closely spaced groups lines on top electronic, probably spin-flip transitions. The lengths range 3–10 nm, found relative precision approximately 2 × 10−3. cluster K37 (nB = 8) largest observed diameter 58.9 nm length 9.82 ± 0.02 nm. dimensional ratio d/rn, i.e. between experimental interatomic distance electron orbiting radius, larger higher levels, where classical limit approached thus electronic motion more strongly confined to plane. also smaller clusters, which due edge effects giving distances. value d/rn 2.865 ± 0.032, close theoretically predicted 2.9. Intensity alternation every second rotational line often observed.
