摘要: Anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) are synthetic derivatives of testosterone (T) predominantly taken as drugs abuse. Using in vivo treatment adult male rats we investigated the effects enanthate (TE) a widely abused AAS, on apoptosis Leydig cells. Increased T and decreased luteinizing hormone levels serum intra-testicular values were found 2 10 weeks treated groups. Two TE-treatment stimulated expression inducible nitric oxide synthase (NOS2) followed by increased NO production, mitochondrial membrane potential prevalence cell apoptosis. This was prevented administration androgen receptor blocker. The induced NOS2 level returned to control after but testes contained fewer Overall, AAS addition reduced steroidogenesis induce transient increase cells apoptotic rate through mechanism associated with receptor, most likely involving induction.
