摘要: Abstract Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are largely used to treat several anxiety disorders. Nevertheless, despite being the focus of intensive research interest over past 35 years, precise role (5-HT) in remains incompletely understood. More recently, it has been suggested that SSRI effects depend on facilitation 5-HT-mediated neurotransmission two parallel, longitudinally organized defensive systems would be distinctly engaged by different threatening stimuli. 5-HT play a dual these systems, facilitating but inhibiting panic. As reviewed present chapter, this proposal received support from clinical and basic studies. Recent evidence also disturbances could involved genesis pathological humans, particularly panic disorder.
