摘要: Persistent organochlorines [PCBs, DDT and chlordane related compounds, dieldrin, toxaphene, hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH), chlorobenzenes] were determined in blubber of Atlantic walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) 1978 1988 from the Avanersuaq (Thule) region north-west Greenland 1989 Ittoqqortoormiit (Scoresbysund) east Greenland. Lowest concentrations (OCs) found samples while much higher levels all except HCH isomers mono/dichlorobiphenyls (CB5/8), observed (all males) Ittoqqortoormiit. Total PCBs (∑PCB) averaged 246 ng/g (wet wt.) male 2860 showed greatest difference between two locations, 50× for p,p′-DDE 69× p,p′-DDT. pattern OCs characteristic seal-eating animals although consumption other organisms cannot be ruled out. The compared to consistent with results polar bears, seals gulls same regions. Principal components analysis that was very similar Inukjuaq Hudson Bay, which have previously been reported seal eaters, quite distinct walrus. No significant differences mean any 1988. For females, there significantly CB5/8, trichlorobiphenyls, toxaphene αHCH as well ∑HCH but not ∑PCBs or compounds. data 1970s late 1980s provide a baseline future trend monitoring
