摘要: Trehalose has been utilized as a supplement to various products such food and cosmetics, recently reported have multiple biological functions in vitro vivo. We previously found that trehalose administered orally inhibits mouse osteoclastogenesis induced by estrogen-deficiency or injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In this study, we examined whether oral administration mice produced changes the Peyer's patches (PP) small intestine, are essential for mucosal immune responses, clarify inhibitory mechanism on osteoclastogenesis. Male C3H/HeN were 1 g/kg 5 consecutive days. Interestingly, caused significant decrease total number PP lymphocytes (PPL) spontaneous release interleukin (IL)-6 PPL compared with those controls, without inducing apparent pathological damage. Moreover, proliferation interferon (IFN)-γ production response LPS tended increase control group. Considering IL-6 IFN-γ factors associated bone metabolism, our results suggest possibility ingestion may modify intestinal environment, resulting altered systemic immunity metabolism.
