摘要: Objectives: to provide our initial experience with ziprasidone in the management of behaviour problems patients traumatic brain injury (TBI) during period post-traumatic amnesia (PTA). Patients: Five a mean age 26.8 ± 9.8 years who had suffered severe TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale score < 8; length coma: 16 7.1 days; and PTA: 62.4 14.8 days) were included study. Agitation was assessed by Agitated Behaviour (ABS) prior administration ziprasidone, after two weeks initiating treatment at moment discontinuing ziprasidone. Results: ABS Total decreased from 27.2 3 18 1.2 treatment. The same decrease also noticed each one subscales (dishinhibition, aggressiveness lability). Mean dose drug 52.8 27.11 mg/day (range: 20–80 mg), highest ranging between 40 80 mg (64 21.9 mg). Maximum 48.2 days 35–68 days). No clinical or electrocardiographic side effects reported. Conclusion: This study shows efficacy controlling agitation PTA period. Despite small size sample, reduced symptoms quickly good tolerability, safety no effects.
